About the project

Welcome to the website of project Practical Training for Students and Teachers.
How did the project start?
In May 2014 our school, The Upper Secondary Vocational School in Senec, received an e-mail from Bratislava Self-Governing Region with information about a possibility to work out a project and apply for project grant to SAIA (Slovak Academic Information Agency).
As a project manager of our school, I decided to react on this offer which was approved by the management of the school. I worked out my idea of mutual cooperation between upper secondary vocational schools in field of subjects: Marketing, Management, Training Firm and, of course, English language. According to instructions from SAIA we needed a partner institution/institutions in Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, so I sent my offer to SIU (Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education) and we were lucky. In June 2014 Åsane videregående skole in Bergen, Norway expressed their interest in my offer to cooperate with our school.
The next step was working out a project for a Preparatory meeting which was accepted by SAIA. Our School invited two members of Åsane videregående skole in Bergen to visit us and work with us to prepare our common project. In September 2014 Mrs Marit Sofie Njøten, Head of Department General Studies and Mr Erlend Jarl Krossøy, Marketing teacher arrived to Senec for a week. From 1 September 2014 to 5 September 2014 we worked out the project together, I sent it to SAIA and it was accepted.

What is the project Practical Training for Students and Teachers about?
Our project started in January 2015 and it will last to February 2016. The objective of the project is to built and develop bilateral institutional cooperation between upper secondary schools in Slovakia and in the donor country Norway – SOŠ Senec and Åsane videregående skole in Bergen. To achieve that aim common activities will take place, taking into account reciprocity of activities and mutual benefit of partners.

We will focus on cooperation in education in particular fields – subjects, we will solve common topics, to support topic solving we will put to use excursions and students will use distance cooperation on common assignments using ICT as well.

Partial objectives of this project can be divided into four basic fields.
I. Influence of innovation of the product on the organisational structure of the training firm in frame of its management
a) Introduction of organisational structure of the existing company,
b) Widen the product portfolio on cooperation with Scandinavian countries (Norway exactly) and its impact on organisational structure of the company.

II. Content of the training firm in the field of Marketing
a) Survey of the market focused on Scandinavian countries – Norway exactly,
b) Segmentation of the market focused on concretization of customers,
c) Working out of the marketing mix with the aim of a real product creation in the particular field, the price of the product, allocation of the product and communication with the market.

III. In the frame of management and marketing in the training firm to focus on promotion of Norway and Slovakia in areas of beauties of nature of the both countries, history, customs and traditions, famous people of culture, sport and the social life.

IV. Gain practical skills in communication in foreign language of students and teachers, manage basic communication phrases in Norwegian/Slovak and exchange experiences in application of teaching methods in education.

Our work plan
Project activities will be divided in areas:
1. activities carried out by students and teachers in Slovak school,
2. activities carried out by students and teachers in Norwegian school,
3. mutual activities carried out during visits in Norway and Slovakia,
4. activities in distance cooperation of students on common assignments,
5. activities carried out by teachers during visits in Norway and Slovakia.
